no audio from mini dv capture

Question

Hi,

I'm doing a test capture before I capture some old MiniDV tapes, and after capturing a 30 sec clip, I found that the audio played ok in FCPX, 10.2.3.

But when I check the clips in quicktime, there's no audio.

I"m running on OS El Capitan, 10.11.3

Any ideas?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

How are you handling the capture?

If the clips play in FCP, what difference does it make that you do not hear audio in QT? Just share a test clip out of FCP and paste back.

HI,

i am using a FireWire 800 to 400 cable, plugged into the camera for the capture.

i have just finished doing a test where i did A version for YouTube, and it had the audio.

i Think I'll leave it at this. As long as I have the audio at the end, that's all that matters at this point.
